Sunday 24 August 2008

Today my family and I got invited to go to the Rock Church by our good friends and neighbors the Monsons . It happens to be the Church's one year anniversary. The Church was quite impressive in terms of their child care facilities. We dropped off Isamu and Kenta in their age appropriate rooms. They had a security checker into the children's area. They gave us id sticker badges so they and we could identify each other.

We then headed for the main service area. There was a scrolling digital banner on the top left and right of the stage which scrolls the names and id of the kids. According to our neighbor, if our kid is crying for more than 10 minutes, we should see the name of our kid on the screen, unobtrusively asking the parents to come and check on their child. For me it as a parent it was a little distracting as I found myself periodically looking at the digital name feed. When I did this, I found myself missing some piece of information during the service.

After the service we collected our kids. They had some free sample of food from a few vendors outside. However, the line for the samples was really long so we ended up skipping the snacks and heading over to vons to get some cough medicine (zpak) and then heading on home.

At home we had lunch, then put the kids in for a nap. I offered to Ets to try out blogging to get her and my feet wet. Hence this post.

Until next time...
